4.0 Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Civil Relief Act (SSCRA) and the Servicemembers’ Civil Relief Act
(SCRA) Generally
The SSCRA confers many important rights upon military personnel, especially Reserve component personnel called to
active duty. On 19 December 2003, President Bush signed the Servicemembers’ Civil Relief Act (SCRA), a comprehensive
rewrite of the SSCRA. The SCRA continues the protections included in the SSCRA and adds several important new
