National Committees

National committees act in an advisory capacity to the national president and Executive Committee. Committee members are nominated by their service section vice presidents to the president and approved by the Executive Committee.

ROA’s Bylaws Section B-11: Committees covers the composition of each committee and the length of the term to which the members are appointed. Committee chairs are appointed by the National President to serve during that president’s term of office. If you are interested in serving on one of these committees, contact your service section vice president.

BOARD OF TRUSTEES

The Board of Trustees manages all property held in trust for the association, investing the assets in a manner which will insure the viable long-range goals of the association. The Board also acts as trustees for the separately incorporated ROA Memorial Endowment Trust.

FAMILY READINESS SUPPORT

The Family Readiness Support Committee acts in an advisory capacity on all matters of policy and procedure relating to family matters. The committee also conducts programs in support of reservists’ families and manages the Family Support special interest group.

CONSTITUTION AND BYLAWS

The Constitution and Bylaws Committee continuously studies the national constitution and bylaws and drafts amendments proposing necessary changes that may be desirable for action by the National Convention.

    INSURANCE AND FINANCIAL SERVICES

    The Insurance and Financial Services Committee acts in an advisory capacity on all matters, except actual expenditure of insurance related funds, relating to the insurance and divergent financial services plans offered to the members of and/or sponsored by the association. The committee also renders risk management advice and counsel on insurance and employee benefits programs covering the association, its subsidiaries, and staff.

      MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS

      The Marketing and Communications Committee acts in an advisory capacity on all matters involving internal and external communications of the Association.

        BUDGET AND FINANCE

        The Budget and Finance Committee continuously studies the fiscal affairs of the Association, recommends an annual budget, reviews the annual audit, and make recommendations to the National Executive Committee.

        HEALTH AFFAIRS

        The Health Affairs Committee maintains close liaison with the services’ Surgeon General on matters involving the readiness of military healthcare, both in peacetime and mobilization. The committee acts in an advisory capacity on all matters of policy and procedure relating to health services.

          MEMBERSHIP

          The Membership Committee is responsible for studying, formulating and implementing a program designed to maintain and promote membership in the association at the maximum potential obtainable.

          MINUTE MAN MEMORIAL BUILDING

          The Minute Man Memorial Building Committee acts in an advisory capacity on all matters relating to the upkeep, repairs, and long-range maintenance of the national headquarters building.

          RESOLUTIONS AND LEGISLATION

          The Resolutions and Legislation Committee acts in an advisory capacity on all matters of policy and procedure relating to legislation. The Committee also reviews all resolutions properly submitted to it and makes recommendations on adoption of those resolutions that are desirable for action and advocacy by the National Convention or the National Council.

          RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT

          The Resource Development Committee acts in an advisory capacity on all matters of fundraising and develops a plan that sets fundraising goals and assesses progress toward meeting those goals.

            TALENT DEVELOPMENT

            The Talent Development Committee identifies, recruits, cultivates and nominates prospective members to serve in elected and appointed positions. The committee also provides comprehensive orientation to national committees and develops future leaders.
