We hear and use this term whether at a sports event, walking through an airport, ceremonies, social events, or quick handshakes in passing. Most of the time it is respectful, sincere, and well meant. But if we’re being honest, it only scratches the surface. It’s shorthand for something bigger that is hard to put into a sentence.

ROA Submits FY 2027 Defense Appropriations Priorities to Congress

ROA's FY 2027 Defense Appropriations priorities include concurrent and proportional fielding of Reserve Component equipment; full C-130J recapitalization for the Navy Reserve, Air Force Reserve, and Air National Guard; and $200 million for Army National Guard and $100 million for Army Reserve HMMWV modernization.

ROA Submits FY 2027 Coast Guard and DHS Congressional Priorities

We are calling on Congress to end the DHS funding lapse and ensure stable, on-time Coast Guard appropriations; fully fund the Coast Guard’s FY 2027 budget request; and ensure Coast Guard Reserve appropriations support responsible growth to 8,500 Selected Reserve billets, among other priorities.

Air Force Extends A-10 Warthog Through 2030

The Air Force recently announced that the A-10 “Warthog” will remain in service through 2030 — a decision that preserves the reserve A-10 squadron at Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri, home of the 442nd Fighter Wing.
