ROA has been selected to co-lead a newly established Special Committee of The Military Coalition (TMC) charged with integrating Google Workspace across the Coalition’s operations — an initiative that will establish a centralized digital backbone for the organization and drive meaningful gains in collaboration and operational efficiency.
The Google Workspace Integration Special Committee will assess TMC’s current workflows and communication processes, develop a phased implementation strategy, and establish a centralized digital archive to serve as the Coalition’s official data repository. The committee is also charged with evaluating license requirements, recommending policies for administration and user access, ensuring security and compliance standards are met, and proposing any by-law amendments or operating instructions necessary to support implementation. The committee’s findings and recommendations will be presented to the full Coalition for a vote, with work to be completed within six months of its first meeting.
ROA’s Matthew Schwartzman will serve as Co-Chair of the committee alongside Leigh Edmonds of Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS), with the committee comprising no more than seven members in total.
“I am thrilled to be co-leading this Special Committee on behalf of ROA,” said Schwartzman, ROA’s Director of Legislation and Military Policy. “The Military Coalition has decades of institutional knowledge and advocacy experience that deserves to be preserved, organized, and built upon. By modernizing the Coalition’s digital infrastructure, we can ensure that knowledge is captured and accessible, and that the Coalition is positioned to operate at the pace of a modern Congress. The future of the Coalition depends on having the right tools in place, and I am excited to help deliver them.”
The committee’s work is expected to deliver a comprehensive written report, a proposed license policy, a functioning digital archive framework within Google Workspace, and a formal presentation of recommendations to TMC Vice Presidents and the full Coalition.
